What is SMP?
Scalp Micropigmentation, commonly known as SMP, is a cosmetic treatment for thinning hair or hair loss. Pigment is implanted using small needles to create the appearance of hair follicles. The treatment is popular amongst clients who have lost their hair, and also clients wishing to give their hair a more dense appearance. The treatment is also extremely popular with clients who have undergone hair transplants needing to camouflage the donor area.
How long will it take?
SMP will require several sessions. Even though you will see results after one session, you will require a minimum of three sessions. Each session could last between 2-6 hours, this will be discussed at your consultation, and of course depends on how much work is required.
How long do I have to wait between sessions?
We require two weeks between each session. This is to enable pigment to settle in the skin and to show its true shade. We do not want to over saturate the area and create a blurred effect. Our aim is to create nice crisp dots which resemble a realistic hair follicle. You have to trust the process…
How much does it cost?
The price of your treatment will be discussed at consultation. This can be completed over the phone, but images will need to be provided. We discuss the Norwood Scale, which I will send over ahead of consultation. Your treatment will be split into deposit, and then three payments split over your sessions. Changes made outside of what was discussed at initial consultation will be at an additional cost. The pricing structure can be found below as a guide, however a final price will be agreed at consultation.
